This important Colombian Emerald brooch comes with a fascinating history
In the 1880s it was gifted by a Maharajah who removed it from his turban. The recipient then had it made into a brooch by Aspreys in London.
Later it was made into a clasp for a strand of pearls, then a ring, and finally back into the Aspreys brooch.
The Amazing Emerald is 15.92 carats and is a Faceted Cabochon Cut in a handmade 14ct gold setting with .75ct of old cut diamonds in the mount.
it can also be worn as a pendant.
It is the most important coloured precious stone item of antique jewellery that I have had, a true investment piece.
